TRULY HOLISTIC FERTILITY SUPPORT
MORE REGULAR & LESS PAINFUL CYCLES
Acupuncture Relieves Menstrual Complaints
Painful Periods and irregular cycles are often a sign of stagnant blood in the uterus that can cause problems with implantation and early fetal growth. Our treatments get this stagnant blood moving to relieve pain and improve fertility.
OPTIMAL EGG QUALITY & UTERINE LINING
Acupuncture Improves Egg Quality
A woman is born with all the eggs she'll ever have. Quality and quantity of viable eggs tends to decline as she ages, but a lot can be done in the 3 months before each attempted conception to make sure the egg that is released for fertilization is pristine.
DIGESTIVE, IMMUNE, & NERVOUS SYSTEM HEALTH
Acupuncture Supports Whole Body Health
Successful conception and implantation are only the beginning. A woman needs good digestive health to get nutrients to her fetus, balanced nervous system to avoid complications and pre-term delivery, strong immune system to fight infections.
PREGNANCY SUPPORT & SYMPTOM RELIEF
Acupuncture Benefits Every Stage of Pregnancy
Pregnancy puts incredible demands on a woman's body. Getting preventative, pro-active care can prevent symptoms and complications during pregnancy. From nausea, to pain, to swelling, to constipation: regular acupuncture treatment is a wise choice.

KATE'S STORY
The Power of Chinese Medicine to
Restore Fertility & Renew Hope
Kate, a 35 year old woman with a complex medical history had just suffered her 3rd miscarriage. She came to New Channel Wellness hoping acupuncture might help her terrible anxiety. Her story illustrates almost every aspect of what Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer to the fertility patient.
Kate had serious risk non-gynecological risk factors, a history of heavy bleeding and subsequent losses, and a complex medical history (it's a bit of a medical miracle that Kate herself is here with us) Because of all of this, her acupuncture suspected Kate had profound subconscious fears about becoming pregnant again and carrying that pregnancy to term.
All of these factors were addressed during the course of treatment. Jennifer, the acupuncturist at New Channel Wellness, took a thorough history and met with Kate to discuss her unique subjective experience of infertilty and loss. Then, she performed a subtle "energetic" treatment known to clear subconsicious fear and trauma from the body. Both patient and doctor set the intention to ask her body to invite the next conception and allow it to stay.
Next, the physical obstacles could be addressed, Kate had serious blood stasis in her body as a result of her medical and surgical history. Chinese herbs were given to help move this stagnant blood while also directing more blood to her uterus and ovaries. After a few months of treatment, Kate became pregnant again.
Initially, her pregnancy went fine but at about 10 weeks, Kate awoke with significant bleeding. She was devastated and terrified as this was what had happened in 2 previous pregnancies. She thought she was losing her baby. Again.
Kate was scheduled for an acupuncture treatment that day and the first order of business was to calm her frantic nerves. Next, we discussed what the options for treatment might be. Ultrasound at her OB/Gyn had confirmed that there was a large subchorionic hemorrhage and there was nothing to do but wait.
In the Chinese Medicine paradigm, however, there was action to take: give Chinese herbs to break the blood stasis while protecting the fetus and slowing bleeding. Kate discussed the potential risks and benefits and began taking herbs that day.
The bleeding continued for several more days. Kate returned for acupuncture treatment every other day. She took herbs and was monitored by her doctor at regular intervals. The bleeding began to slow and at every ultrasound, her baby's heartbeat and growth continued.
When two weeks had passed, herbs were no longer needed, and acupuncture treatment was spaced out to once every week or two.
The rest of the pregnancy was uneventful. Kate was scheduled for labor induction at 39 weeks due to the increasing potential for complications from her underlying medical condition.
At 38 weeks ultrasound it was discovered that while her daughter was still perfectly healthy, she was no longer growing in the womb and it was time to induce labor ahead of schedule.
Kate had an easy and relatively quick labor and a vaginal birth of a 5 lb. 8 oz baby girl. She was able to take her home the very next day!
We think Isabela is an acupuncture miracle!!
HOW FERTILITY ACUPUNCTURE WORKS
Acupuncture Increases Blood Flow to the Uterus and Ovaries
This means more nutrients get to your cells: your egg cells and the cells that produce the hormones that support early pregnancy. When you endometrium (uterine lining) is well supplied with good blood flow, implantation is more likely to be successful.
Regulates Activity in Hypothalamic Ovarian Axis in the Brain:
This means the deep structures in your brain that produce chemicals that regulate your menstrual cycle and metabolism are more responsive to hormone signals from your ovaries, and vice versa. Getting acupuncture is like calibrating and fine-tuning this system known as the HPO Axis.

Improve Resilience to Stress & Promote Deep Relaxation
This means your body systems are better able to manage the stressors in daily life. You feel better and fertility is enhanced. During times of unchecked stress response, cortisol levels may be high. When cortisol is high, progesterone may be low and it will be more difficult to establish a pregnancy.
Reduce Uterine Cramping at Key Times During Menstruation & Implantation
This means that your uterus is more hospitable during implantation and early pregnancy. Research studies have shown, for example, that reducing uterine cramping during IVF procedures can increase implantation rates.
Increase Sperm Production & Reduce Inflammation / Pathogenic Heat
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, along with proper nutritional and lifestyle practices can increase sperm count and improve sperm quality and motility. Most men with less than stellar sperm have sub-clinical health problems. Correction of these problems often leads to better numbers at the next sperm analysis.
Improved Libido & Overall Sexual Function
One of the best ways, and certainly the most pleasant ways to improve fertility is to have an active and balanced sex life. Acupuncture and herbal supplements have been used successfully for centuries to increase libido.
